Experts in UAV and Drone Photography and Surveying

Our clients benefit from our wide range of knowledge and expertise, which helps deliver high-quality projects in a professional, safe and legal manner.

Commercial Drone Photography and Surveying: At the moment, not everyone needs a ‘licence’ in order to legally fly. However, any person or company flying for commercial purposes (including any aerial video or stills for use on Youtube) needs a Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) ‘Permission for Commercial Operations’ (PfCO) licence. This ensures that the person responsible for flying the drone has been properly trained and assessed to ensure they can carry out safe and legal flying activities. All our pilots are qualified and fully insured to fly drones commercially up to 20kg in weight to deliver your photography and surveying needs.

Limits of safe and legal drone flying:  Normally, you can’t fly within 150 metres of a congested area or within 50 metres of a person, vessel, vehicle or structure not under the control of the pilot; or higher than 120m (400ft) off the ground. Also, flights within 150m of substantially congested (built-up) areas are prohibited. However many such built-up areas have open spaces (car parks and grass areas) where drones can fly with land-owner permission.  We can also fly at night if required and the site is suitable.

Permission can be obtained in special circumstances to fly outside these limitations. All drone flying is regulated by Air Navigation Orders (UK government statutory regulations) and is guided by the CAA CAP722 Unmanned Aircraft System Operations in UK Airspace – Guidance – 8th Edition.
